Treatment of patients at AHEAD Academy

A 34 year old patient came with pain in lower front teeth and fractured upper front teeth. Root canal treatment (RCT) was planned was lower front teeth, later on followed by crowns. The upper front teeth were restored with composite fillings that are tooth coloured. The patient is extremely glad with his appearance and smile. Online live class in periodontics was held today at AHEAD Academy, New Delhi centre. The topic for today was ‘normal periodontium’. Periodontium consists of the investing and supporting tissues of the tooth (gingiva, periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone). It has been divided into two parts: the gingiva, whose main function is protection of the underlying tissues, and the attachment apparatus, composed of the periodontal ligament, cementum, and alveolar bone.
