New
batch of clinical course in prosthodontics started at New Delhi centre. New
students were given a demonstration of crown preparation. Before giving a
crown, a tooth’s upper part, crown has to be reduced to make space for crown.
The students were shown the step-by-step procedure for crown preparation. At
AHEAD Academy we prepare the students fully before they work on patients. A
thorough exposure is given to the students here.
Clinical class in oral surgery
was held as part of clinical Certificate Course. The topic of discussion was
impaction. Poor alignment of wisdom teeth can damage adjacent teeth, jawbones
or nerves. Wisdom teeth may be enclosed with in soft tissue. Transalveolar
extraction was explained. Various types of incisions were taught to the
students. The post extraction instruction to be given to the patients was
explained to the students. Different complications which may arise after
extraction were elaborated. Students were explained how to manage such
complications. Different instruments for extraction were demonstrated to the
students.
A male
patient, Mrs. Janki Devi came to the clinic with pain in upper left region. Her
tooth was removed by surgical method.
The
students are being demonstrated the procedure of administering an injection to
a case of oral submucous fibrosis.
A 44 year old male, Mr. Deepak
came with a complaint of limited mouth opening and pain in lower left region.
On examination, hard bands were felt in the check. It was provisionally
diagnosed as oral submucous fibrosis. The patient was explained the condition
and motivated to quit chewing tobacco. The
patients are a driver and have a habit of chewing tobacco since 10-12 years.
Infection …………. Was administered to the patient. This mouth opening was measured
with a scale. A thorough cleaning was performed and patient recalled next week
for evaluation and further treatment.
Apicoectomy
procedure of a 21 year old boy, Lucky is going on at the Delhi centre. Root Canal Treatment was done. Radicular Cyst
was seen on examination which had destroyed the palatal bone causing perforation.
The cyst was removed in the procedure.
